Finally, here is Google’s mega hardware event. To mark the date; the search engine giant Google is unveiling its next smartphone iteration Pixel 2 today. But we already know a fair amount of information about what is about to reveal; that includes, of course, the brand new Pixel 2 smartphones with some significant upgrades, and some devices that will ditch Google’s wider hardware collection considerably.
Here’s A List Of Things To Expect From Google Pixel 2:
Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL
The mainstream devices are most probably to be the latest Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones, continuations to the first smartphones Google built itself in-house; which it launched last year. Assessing by Google’s initial effort, the next should be a very captivating set of devices.
The Pixel 2 XL is likely to be the greater deal of both the new smartphones; in several distinct ways: Unlike last year, Google will modify its larger-screened phone with some refinements over the smaller, which includes a design with much thinner bezels. It’s also speculated to have a QHD screen and both front and back cameras with optical image stabilization.
Moreover, according to Android Authority report; Pixel 2 can have an electronic sim slot, as well as IP67 dust and water resistance and new, tougher Gorilla Glass 5 for the display. It may also introduce “squeezable” sides, which would allow users to press in when carrying the phone to trigger operations, like launching Google Assistant.
As for the Pixel 2, it’ll feature a lot of the same internal specs; but it is rumored to have wider bezels, and an FHD screen rather QHD – reports also divulge it won’t get the similar full-color gamut of the Pixel 2 XL.
It’s AI smart voice assistant season, with Amazon offering a whole bunch of new Alexa and Echo devices. Google’s obliged to follow suit with some updates to Home, the smart speaker it introduced at I/O last year and began selling in 2017.
We’ve heard rumors that there could be a mini version of Home; to jockey with Amazon’s Echo Dot at around the $50 mark; and that it could also be coming up with a greater, more premium version. If there’s anything Home could apply, it’s a version of the hardware with better sound.
One of the most intriguing stories about this event for me is the talk of restoration for Google’s high-end Pixel Chromebook line. We’ve whispered that a Pixelbook is in the pipeline.
The leaked PIxelbook has been caught in leaked photos and seems to possess a flip around the screen for sufficient tablet conversion; and that pen which will retail for around $100 separately.
Virtual Reality is something that is not new for Pixel iteration; because it was there in last year’s Pixel devices. However, we have heard that this time the company has updated its Daydream VR headset with some major refinements along its way.
There had been a lot going on previously, and this event is certainly a great chance for the company to come up with updates on progress since I/O in June. That implies, there is a lot of interesting features and updates to hear in this event. Watch it live how Googel unveils its Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL in an event in Sans Fransisco.
