Well, this is interesting. Leaker Evan Blass has had his hands on some elements that mean the Huawei P11 could come with an original camera setup. In a tweet issued earlier today; which you can see below, it was recommended that the subsequent device in Huawei’s P series could house a triplex-lens, 40 MP back camera setup with 5x hybrid zoom and a 24 MP selfie camera.

 Huawei P11’s Speculation

The report is based on images from a digital artist running for “one of [Huawei’s] creative agencies” (it’s not explicit how Blass befell upon them), which also unveiled that the cameras may be once again co-engineered with photogrammetry company Leica. As for how the trio of back lenses would be configured — in terms of sensor setup, aperture size, etc. — we can only conjecture.

 

 

Adding fuel to the fire, Blass says the images have now been lifted from the source; which is generally an implication that the data is legit.

Huawei was one of the initial adopters in the modern dual-camera trend; proposing this setup with the Huawei P9 in April 2016. This camera also co-developed with Leica, who Huawei has collaborated with for its significant flagships’ camera tech ever since.

Meantime, Huawei has been targetting AI-based enhancements for its cameras lately — which, coupled with the photography hardware suggested above; could assure that the Huawei P11 is one of the best phones for photographs that we’ll see in 2018.
With concerns to when we might view the P11 appear; Huawei issued the P10 (seen at the top of the page) in February last year; a bit earlier than the company’s past April timeframe for its P devices; we might only have to sit back until Q1; 2018 to find out what Huawei has in store for the P11.
